What is Dwarkadhish Jagat Mandir, Dwarka known for?
The Dwarkadhish temple — Jagat Mandir, the temple of the world — rises five storeys over the town of Dwarka, where the Gomti meets the Arabian Sea. Krishna is worshipped here as Dwarkadhish, the king of Dwarka. The temple is entered from the market side through the Moksha Dwar, or from the river through the Swarga Dwar and the fifty-six steps down to the Gomti.

Dwarka is counted among the Char Dham and the Sapta Puri, and is revered as the city Krishna founded after leaving Mathura. The present temple is dated largely to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, built on older foundations. A distinctive practice is the changing of the dhwaja — the great flag on the spire — several times a day, each flag offered by a devotee.

How do you reach Dwarkadhish Jagat Mandir, Dwarka?
Dwarka railway station is about 2 kilometres from the temple, with direct trains from Ahmedabad and several other cities. The nearest airports are Jamnagar, about 130 kilometres, and Porbandar, about 100. The last stretch through the market is on foot.
Mobile phones and cameras are not permitted inside. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, about 17 kilometres away, and Bet Dwarka are usually added to the same trip.
