Temples in Tirupati

Tirupati lies at the foot of the Tirumala hills in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, and the temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, about 20 kilometres up the hills, is among the most visited places of worship in the world. The temple and its arrangements are administered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The town below has its own temples, including Sri Padmavathi Ammavari at Tiruchanur and Sri Govindaraja Swamy.

Best time to visit: September to February. Brahmotsavam, usually in September or October, is the great festival.
