Temples in Orchha

Darshan timings, aarti and travel guide for every major temple in Orchha.

Orchha is a small town on the Betwa river in the Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh, about 16 kilometres from Jhansi, and was the capital of the Bundela kings from the sixteenth century. Its palaces, cenotaphs and temples stand almost unchanged. Orchha's central tradition is its own: Lord Rama is worshipped here as Raja Ram, the reigning king of the town, and is honoured as a sovereign as well as a deity.

Best time to visit: October to March. Ram Navami and Vivah Panchami are the town's principal festivals.
