Temples in Katra (Vaishno Devi)

Katra is a town in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir at the foot of the Trikuta hills, and the base from which pilgrims set out for the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. The yatra from Katra to the Bhawan is about 12 kilometres along a paved mountain path. The shrine and the yatra are administered by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

Best time to visit: March to June and September to October. Navratri is the principal season; winter brings snow and cold at the Bhawan.
