Temples in Indore

Indore is the largest city in Madhya Pradesh and, for most pilgrims, the arrival point for the region — its airport is the nearest to both Ujjain (about 55 kilometres) and Omkareshwar (about 77). The city was the seat of the Holkar dynasty, and its best-known temple, Khajrana Ganesh, is tied to Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. Indore is also known across India for its food, particularly the night market at Sarafa.

Best time to visit: October to March. Ganesh Chaturthi is the great occasion at Khajrana.
